Wax FAQs
-
For optimal results, hair should be at least ¼ inch long (roughly the size of a grain of rice). This length ensures the wax adheres properly to the hair for effective removal.
-
Waxing involves pulling hair from the root, so some discomfort is natural. However, pain levels vary depending on individual pain tolerance, the area being waxed, and how regularly you wax. Areas with thicker or more sensitive skin (like the bikini area) may feel more intense than less sensitive areas (like legs or arms).
To reduce discomfort:
Exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment.
Avoid caffeine or alcohol before waxing, as they can heighten sensitivity.
Consider taking a mild pain reliever (like ibuprofen) 30 minutes prior.
With consistent waxing, many clients notice less discomfort as the hair grows back finer and weaker over time.
-
Typically, waxing results last between 3 to 6 weeks, depending on individual hair growth cycles, the area waxed, and how often you wax. Hair growth is often slower in areas like legs and faster in areas like the face or bikini line.
Regular waxing can help extend results over time as hair regrowth becomes finer and more sparse. For best maintenance, most clients schedule appointments every 4–6 weeks to stay hair-free and ensure the wax captures all the new growth in the same cycle.

Proper aftercare is essential to keep your skin smooth, healthy, and irritation-free:
Avoid heat and friction for 24–48 hours: This includes hot showers, saunas, intense workouts, and tight clothing that can cause chafing.
Stay out of the sun: Waxed skin is more sensitive to UV rays, making it prone to burns and hyperpigmentation. Use sunscreen if you need to go outside.
Prevent ingrown hairs: Begin exfoliating gently 2–3 days post-wax and moisturize daily to keep the skin hydrated and prevent dead skin buildup.
Soothe the skin: Apply aloe vera or a post-wax calming lotion to reduce redness and irritation.
If you notice persistent redness, bumps, or ingrown hairs, consult your esthetician for tailored advice or a recommended product.
